Aecon reached out to us requiring the extension of an existing pipe with precise specifications. The main goal was to integrate a larger diameter pipe capable of withstanding significant loads, while also ensuring structural integrity and flexibility for on-site customization. One notable aspect was the emphasis on longevity, as the selected materials needed to surpass traditional options in terms of durability and ease of manipulation.
The challenge was to select and implement a pipe extension that not only met the project's technical requirements but also exceeded expectations in terms of longevity and adaptability. The larger diameter of the pipe and the anticipated heavy loads demanded a structurally robust solution that could be tailored on-site to fit seamlessly into the existing infrastructure. The material chosen for the pipe also needed to have a prolonged lifespan compared to conventional Corrugated Steel Pipe (CSP) and offer better workability than concrete, ensuring future maintenance costs were minimized.
We decided to utilize our partner Soleno's KRAH pipe, along with their team of on-site installers equipped with HDPE extrusion welders in order to not only meet the structural demands of the project but also offer an impressive lifespan advantage over traditional CSP and concrete. The integration of Soleno's KRAH pipe definitely proved to be a game-changer, providing a robust, customizable, and durable extension to the existing pipe. The HDPE material's longevity and adaptability not only exceeded project requirements but also set a new standard for future infrastructure projects in terms of material selection and implementation strategies.
